A giant leap into the future - 3rd June 2020 View All

On Saturday 30th May, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasted off from Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre.

This historic launch sent astronauts into space on a private spacecraft. The crew piloted the capsule to the International Space Station.

The rocket and capsule were built by Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX.

The astronauts on board, Robert Behnham and Douglas Hurley, are two of NASA's most experienced astronauts. They have previously spent time on the Space Station.
