Accessibility Statement

Sensations English · Real World Language Learning Ltd. · Published 13 October 2026

This accessibility statement applies to:

This service is run by Real World Language Learning Ltd., a company registered in England. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service, whether you are learning English, teaching with it, or managing it for your institution. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the service using just a keyboard, and see where you are on the page
  • skip straight to the main content on every page
  • watch lesson videos with captions and read a full transcript
  • listen to the audio in listening exercises at three speeds using keyboard shortcuts
  • use the interactive games and hear whether your answer was right or wrong with a screen reader
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings

The service is written in simple English because it is designed for people learning English. The interface is available in English only; you can use your browser's or device's translation feature to read the pages in another language.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Some parts of your experience are provided by other organisations:

  • Card payments on our site use a secure form provided by Stripe. Your invoices and receipts are shown on a page hosted by Stripe.
  • Signing in through your school or university (for example via Moodle, Canvas, Google Classroom or your institution's single sign-on) uses your institution's own login system.
  • Live webinars take place on Zoom. Recordings and slides are published afterwards on our webinars website and are covered by this statement.
  • Content written by teachers in task instructions, including links teachers add to images, videos or documents, is created by your teacher, not by us. We give teachers guidance on writing accessible instructions.

How accessible this service is

We know some parts of this service are not fully accessible:

  • recordings of past webinars on our webinars website (sensationsenglishwebinars.co.uk) may not have accurate captions, and do not yet have transcripts
  • our contact form and registration page use a CAPTCHA that some people cannot complete; you can email us instead
  • we have not yet tested the service with screen readers; we plan to do this by 31 December 2026

Feedback and contact information

If you find any problems that are not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, contact us:

We will reply within 10 working days. If you need information from this service in a different format, such as an accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio or braille, use the same contact details and tell us the format you need.

If you cannot use our contact form because of the CAPTCHA, please email us instead.

Enforcement procedure

If you use Sensations English through a school, college, university or other public body, that organisation is responsible under its national accessibility law for the services it provides to you, including Sensations English. Its own accessibility statement explains how to complain, and we work with our customers to resolve problems quickly. If you are not satisfied with the organisation's response, you can contact the enforcement body for its country:

  • United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales): the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) enforces the accessibility regulations. Contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
  • Northern Ireland: the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI).
  • Italy: the Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale (AgID) through the Difensore civico per il digitale, using the complaint link in the organisation's accessibility statement.
  • Spain: the organisation's Unidad Responsable de Accesibilidad in the first instance, under Real Decreto 1112/2018; unresolved complaints are escalated to the national supervisory body (Secretaría General de Administración Digital).
  • France: the Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique (ARCOM), following the complaint route in the organisation's déclaration d'accessibilité.
  • Germany: the Schlichtungsstelle BGG for federal bodies, or the equivalent conciliation body of the relevant Land.
  • Poland: the public body first; unresolved complaints go to the minister responsible for digitalisation.

If you use Sensations English as an individual, Real World Language Learning Ltd. is a company registered in England. In the United Kingdom, the Equality Act 2010 requires us to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people; if you believe we have not, you can contact EASS (above) for advice. In Northern Ireland, contact ECNI. In the European Union, you can contact the consumer protection or market surveillance authority in your country.

Contacting us by phone or visiting us in person

We are an online service and do not have premises open to the public. If you need to speak to someone, email us and we will arrange a call, video call or text-based conversation at a time that suits you.

Technical information about this service's accessibility

Real World Language Learning Ltd. is committed to making Sensations English accessible. We are a private company, so the public sector accessibility regulations do not apply to us directly; they apply to the schools, colleges, universities and other public bodies that use our service, and we apply their requirements voluntarily so that our customers can meet them. In this statement, "the accessibility regulations" means the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (UK) and Directive (EU) 2016/2102 as transposed in each EU Member State. Our commitment to disabled users is also made under the Equality Act 2010 (Great Britain) and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Northern Ireland).

Compliance status

This service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

We also measure the service against the European standard EN 301 549. The web content requirements of EN 301 549 are met where the corresponding WCAG success criteria are met; the non-compliances listed below apply equally to that standard.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Webinars website (sensationsenglishwebinars.co.uk)

Recordings of past webinars rely on automatically generated captions and have no transcripts, which fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded)). We plan to provide corrected captions and transcripts for all recordings by 30 November 2026.

Contact form and registration

Account registration uses Google reCAPTCHA, which can require a visual puzzle; this fails 3.3.8 (Accessible Authentication (Minimum)). The contact form uses the same CAPTCHA, which fails 1.1.1 (Non-text Content). You can contact us by email instead.

We plan to replace the CAPTCHA by 30 April 2027.

Disproportionate burden

We are not claiming disproportionate burden for any content.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Live webinars are delivered on Zoom and are not captioned live; live video is exempt. Card payment forms are provided by Stripe, and invoices and receipts are shown on pages hosted by Stripe. Signing in through an institution's learning platform or single sign-on uses that institution's system. Task instructions written by teachers, and any images, videos or documents they link to, are created by the teacher; we provide guidance to help teachers write accessible instructions.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

Our accessibility roadmap sets out every known issue, who is fixing it and by when. In summary: we will add corrected captions and transcripts to our webinar recordings by 30 November 2026; we will replace the CAPTCHA on our forms and improve the task editor for teachers by 30 April 2027; we will complete screen-reader testing of the whole service by 31 December 2026 and update this statement; and we will commission an independent accessibility audit by 30 September 2027. We review this statement at least every 12 months and re-test the service after any major release.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 13 October 2026. It was last reviewed on 13 October 2026.

This service was last tested on 1 October 2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. The test was carried out by Real World Language Learning Ltd. as a self-assessment. Fixes to the learner platform and teacher tools were verified on 10 October 2026, and fixes to sensationsenglish.com and the webinars website on 12 and 13 October 2026.

We tested a representative sample of pages and journeys across all parts of the service: on sensationsenglish.com, the home, pricing and contact pages; on the learner platform, logging in, creating an account, the home page, a video lesson with transcript, an interactive listening exercise with feedback, My Learning Hub and Manage Account; on the teacher tools, the Teacher Zone, the task list, creating a task with the rich-text instructions editor, and a task report; and on our webinars website, the home page and a webinar recording page. Testing combined automated checking (axe-core 4.10) on every sampled page with manual checks of keyboard operation, visible focus, page structure and landmarks, form labels and error messages, accessible names, colour contrast, captions and transcripts, and reflow at narrow widths.

We will review this statement at least every 12 months (next review by 13 October 2027), and re-test the service after any major release.
